Salesforce alienate their DimDim users

Salesforce acquired DimDim (a conferencing service) and in doing sotell every DimDim user that they’re no longer welcome:
"Your free Dimdim account will remain active until March 15, 2011. After that date, you will no longer be able to access your free Dimdim account."
Surely there’s a better approach than this.
When companies behave this way, they’re showing what it would feel like to use their service.
